You know one of the biggest thrills for a guy who's been around this business for as long as I have is the advent of a bright new star. Several weeks ago a very talented nineteen year old newcomer named Barbra Streisand did a comedy song in the Broadyway musical "I can get it for you wholesale" and she stopped the show cold. Also, in addition to that, she appears nightly at the "Bonsoir" and kills the people there. But I was delighted to learn during rehearsals this week that she is equally effective in straight numbers as she is when she's being zany. Here then is Ms. Barbra Streisand
Win a full karat earring
Buy a glass of champagne
Champagne, gotta celebrate
'Cause my last million dollars just went right down the drain
Champagne, gotta celebrate
I'm broke and poor
I'm back where I started
And Joe I'm sure I've never felt so lighthearted
Happy days, I'll have another
Happy days are here again
The skies above are clear again
Let us sing a song of cheer again
Happy days are here again
Altogether shout it now
There's no one who can doubt it now
Let us tell the world about it now
Happy days are here again
Your cares and troubles are gone
There'll be no more from now on
From now on
Happy days are here again
The skies above are clear again
Let us sing a song of cheer again
Happy times
Happy landings
Happy days
Are here again
Oh
